On September 22 the Quay Brothers will premiere a short film Kwartet Smyczkovy based on the only string quartet by Witold Lutosławski, composed in 1964. The Quay Brothers react to the melodic superimpositions and flickering micro-rhythms of the composition with stark and eerie images. At the premiere of this short film, the Arditti Quartet will perform live in a dialogue with the projection. Then on September 28 and 29 in Dortmund the concert ‘Ensemble Resonance: Ikon of Light’ will include the title work by John Tavener for mixed voices and string trio. It will be performed alongside works by Arvo Part.
