News - Die Wält der Zwischenfälle

Tuesday, March 22, 2005
On March 30 Haflidi Hallgrímsson’s new opera Die Wält der Zwischenfälle receives its Austrian premiere at the Museumsquartier Vienna, conducted by Frank Michael Hube and staged by Michael Scheidl.

Hallgrímsson’s opera is based on the fragmentary work of Russian absurdist writer Daniil Kharms: a collage of black humour, absurd happenings and mindless violence.

‘Anyone who has seen Die Wält der Zwischenfälle ought to be convinced that in spite of the half century delay, this work can become to the opera what "Waiting for Godot" is to the theatre, a classic of the Absurd.’
Schleswig-Holsteinischer Zeitungsverlag

Further performances on March 31 and April 1 & 2.
