Boston Lyric Opera presents Peter Maxwell Davies chamber opera The Lighthouse this February. Opening on the 8th February 2012, this opera – part ghost story, part psychological drama – is based on the true story of three lighthouse keepers who disappeared mysteriously from a remote Scottish lighthouse in 1900.
Written in 1979, this opera has had many performances, and with each comes a fresh approach to Maxwell Davies’ wonderful score and libretto.
