On July 21 a special concert will be held to celebrate the life and music of award-winning composer, the late Geoffrey Burgon.

To commemorate Geoffrey in what would have been his seventieth birthday year, the City of London Sinfonia will be joined by the BBC Choir of the Year, the Wellensian Consort, viola player and conductor Philip Dukes, cellist Josephine Knight and Presenter Terry Jones at St John’s Smith Square in London, on a journey through all styles of his music.

The world premiere of his Cello Concerto will be included, along with the Viola Concerto, a survey of his choral music and a trip through his famous television scores – from Brideshead Revisited to The Chronicles of Narnia and the famous Nunc dimittis from Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
