Hugh Wood Chamber Music Release
Six chamber works by Hugh Wood have been released on Toccata Classics this October. Performed by The London Archduke Trio, viola player Paul Silverthorne, and clarinettist Roger Heaton, the disc ranges from his Op. 1, written in 1958, to Overture for Piano Trio of 2005.
The CD includes three premiere recordings - Overture for Piano Trio, Op. 48; Variations for Viola and Piano, Op. 1 and Piano Trio, Op. 24. Also included on the disc are the Clarinet Trio, Op. 40; Poem for Violin and Piano, Op. 35; and Paraphrase on ‘Bird of Paradise’, Op. 26.
