Hans Werner Henze’s recent orchestral work Scorribanda Sinfonica will receive its American premiere on 17 October 2002. This work which premiered last June in Hamburg has been heard in Japan in August 2002 at the Suntory Summer Festival with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kazuyoshi Akiyama. The US premiere will follow in on October 17 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Roberto Abbado.
