UK premiere of Whitbourn’s Luminosity
Oxford-based chamber choir Commotio will give the UK premiere of Luminosity by James Whitbourn at its concert at Mill Hill School, London, on March 21.

Premiered in Philadelphia Cathedral in 2008, Luminosity is a large-scale choral meditating on the beauty of creation and interleaving the writings St John, St Teresa of Avila, the Zen Buddhist nun Ryonen, St Augustine, Julian of Norwich and St Isaac of Nineveh.

Conducted by music director Matthew Berry, the programme will include other works by Whitbourn, as well as music by Richard Allain and Eric Whitacre.
