Yared film suites

Gabriel Yared was born in 1949 and although he benefited from a classical education with the great masters, including Dutilleux and Maurice Ohanna, he remains at heart a fervent self-taught musician, open to all kinds of music. During the 1970s Yared collaborated as a song writer and orchestrator with, among others, Johnny Hallyday, Sylvie Vartan and the Costa Brothers. He has also written music for dance. Since 1980 Yared has devoted most of his time to composing original scores for film, and has worked on over seventy movies to date, including Betty Blue, The Talented Mr Ripley, Sylvia, Cold Mountain and The English Patient directed by Anthony Minghella which received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Grammy.
