On August 26 Peter Maxwell Davies will receive the Premio del Presidente della Repubblica Italiana. This is the first time that this hugely prestigious award, which recognises a lifetime of outstanding artistic achievement, will be presented to someone from the UK. The occasion will be marked with a concert of Max’s chamber music at the Villa di Pagnana in Tuscany, performed by I Solisti di Contempoartensemble and culminating in Max’s piano trio A Voyage to Fair Isle .
