In recent months Joubert’s music has been performed widely to celebrate his eightieth birthday. The previous month, the premiere of the oratorio Wings of Faith by Ex Cathedra in Birmingham attracted provoked an exceptional response from audience and critics alike. Writing in the Times, Richard Morrison commented that “it sounded as gratifying to sing as it was luscious to hear, and its unpretentious sincerity was deeply touching.”
