A new CD on the METIER label presents works for piano, clarinet and string quartet from Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. These pieces date from the composer’s student days through to the 1980s, providing an intriguing release that documents the stylistic development of one of Britain's most influential and revered composers. The performers are the Kreutzer Quartet, clarinettist Guy Cowley and pianist Ian Pace. The disc was launched during a festival of Maxwell Davies' works running at Durham University from 16 to 19 March.
