Insomnia by Esa-Pekka Salonen has been co-commissioned by Suntory Hall and the NDR Symphony Orchestra. After its successful premiere under the composer's baton, Christoph Eschenbach will give the German premiere on 21 March 2003 in Hamburg followed by a European tour which will include performances at the BBC Proms, at the Baltic Festival in Stockholm and at the Helsinki Festival in August 2003.
