Salonen Piano Concerto

Esa-Pekka Salonen’s eagerly awaited Piano Concerto is to be premiered at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, New York on February 1 2007, with further performances on the 2nd and 3rd February. The work, a co-commission by the New York Philharmonic and the BBC, will be first performed by soloist Yefim Bronfman and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the composer himself and will receive its European premiere at this year’s Proms in the summer.
